Journal Name: Engaging Science, Technology, and Society (ESTS)

Publisher and Sponsor: All operational costs for ESTS are supported by the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S). The Society is a nonprofit professional association founded in 1975 to engage and connect those interested in understanding the ways in which science, technology, and medicine function and manifest in relation to their social contexts. 4S has a broad and growing membership and holds a widely attended academic conference annually.

Since 2023, and for the next five years ESTS is supported through OACIP (Lyrasis). Research libraries, university institutions, and individuals can continue pledging financial support to ESTS through the Lyrasis webpage. Please refer to our Publisher and Sponsor webpage for a list of contributing institutions.

Publication Frequency: 3 issues annually. Until volume 6, we used to follow a continuous publication model in one annual volume. Starting from volume 7 we moved to an issue-based publication model. Volume 7 features 2 issues. Starting from volume 8 we publish 3 issues annually.

Indexing: Since its inception in 2015, ESTS is indexed in The Directory of Open Access Journals. Starting July 2024, ESTS has been awarded the DOAJ seal in recognition of the journal's efforts to promote best practices in open access scholarly communication.

Beginning with Volume 4 (2018), ESTS is indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). ESTS is also indexed in Crossref and Google Scholar.

ESTS is now also indexed in ERIH PLUS, The European Referencing Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences.

Article Processing Charge (APC): ESTS is a fully open access journal. There are no APC or submission fees to publish in the journal. All ESTS content is freely available upon publication.
